We all dream of flying to outer space…What forbidden planets await us?
Exotic Exports happens when you accidentally write a GTA pause menu theme for a sci-fi documentary. Much like many of our of my songs – choosing the right sounds is the key to creating a sonic world that captures the genre before any music is actually write.
I write music on digital audio workstation Reason, and one of my favourite synths in Reason is the Oberheim OB-XA.
I wanted to use this lush instrument to write a number of the ambient tracks needed for the doc.
Ambience and space go hand in hand and this is one of my favourite tracks due to the intentional playfulness in mood. The chords I used create a sense of hope with a hint of caution of the unknown.
