A lot of people like to play Youtube music on their browser. Some people like to cast YouTube music to their TV. Watch above or follow the link directly to YouTube.

Strangers In The Sky was originally an attempt to write a heroic theme. This did not go as planned. I decided the best way to approach a heroic theme would be to study some heroic chord progressions. I wrote the chords whilst jamming on acoustic guitar and felt like I had some origin of a heroic cow boy theme. Cowboys in space maybe could be interesting? Whilst I felt like the chords had a heroic feel to them, acoustic guitar was out. All hail the synth!

Within minutes of programming the arpeggiated chords into Logic Pro using the software synth Z3TA+2, the tempo had almost doubled and I found myself writing another heavy metal influenced head banger. Not the space cowboy anthem I had anticipated, but it certainly invoked feelings of a hero fighting in space.

Maybe think Firefly if it were set in the 80s?

I wanted to show you how I came up with the original chord progression guitar and how the song eventually took a very different shape
In this video, I discuss how you can take any chord progression and compose it into a song in the sci fi genre.
